As important as they are, they are pretty mundane, and we often don’t consider how well our gutters have been installed until a major storm comes our way. They’re made to collect water as it flows off the roof and transport it away from the property. Not only do they help protect the exterior of our homes, but it also helps to prevent water damage to the exterior of properties and their foundation. If your gutter system isn’t properly installed, any number of issues could arise, including permanent damage to the foundation of your home. Don’t wait until a problem arises get them checked out as soon as possible and before a major storm hits.
Does my house need new gutters?
Even if you aren’t noticing any issues or pools of water anywhere, it is always a good idea to double check on the conditions of your gutters before any major damage is caused. Properly installed gutters use a system that collects the water in such a way that it does not overflow and create problems. This system is often called “pitched to drain”, as the gutters are pitched in a way that directs water away from drainage problem areas such as window wells, driveways, and sidewalks, and allows the water to flow into the proper drainage routes.
