How involved do I need to be with my roofing repairs?

As much as you want to be! Priority Restoration assigns a project manager to each project. Our project managers are by the homeowner’s side from inspection to completion. The homeowner calls in the claim, meets the adjuster, picks out shingle type and color, and enjoys the beautiful finish at the end. We have total transparency and keep our clients in the loop every step of the way!

How does the insurance process work?

The insurance process is relatively simple. After a FREE inspection from Priority Restoration, an honest assessment will be given about the damage to the roof. If it is determined that there is enough damage to constitute calling in a claim, then the homeowner should report the damage. Typically, the insurance company will ask you to have someone take a look, and you’re already on top of that because you called US for your FREE inspection. Within a few days, the insurance company will call to set up an adjuster meeting. The adjuster is there to assess the damage to the property on behalf of the insurance company. Notify us when the adjuster meeting is! We will meet the adjuster at the residence and be a representative for your best interest. We provide this service for FREE. We are not there to argue with adjusters, we are there to help make an accurate assessment of the damage to your home. The adjuster will then report their findings to the insurance company for them to determine if they are going to cover the damages and how much they will cover. They do so with a “scope of work” which will be sent to the policy holder. The homeowner or policy owner then sends the “scope” to Priority Restoration for review. We again, acting in your best interest, ensure that the insurance company is covering what they should be based on laws and code requirements. Once we are finished with the work, we will send a final invoice to your insurance company to close out the claim.

What if I don’t want to take advantage of my insurance company?

Your home is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest investment you will ever make. Priority Restoration stands by your side to make sure that your investment is protected. We help homeowners hold their insurance companies accountable for the protection that they pay for. We ensure that any damage, code changes, and existing items or upgrades to your home are properly covered and your residence is restored to its pre-existing condition. Everything is done through a third party pricing system to keep both insurance companies and contractors honest in what is being charged and paid for. Also, insurance companies have their own insurance companies and submit claims based on their losses as well. It is not possible to take advantage of the insurance company.

Will my rates go up because of a hail claim?

No! It is against the law for an insurance company to raise your rates due to an “act of God”. They are permitted to raise them regionally for their own reasoning but they CANNOT just raise yours because you filed a claim.

There was a bad hail storm and my roof isn’t leaking, so it’s not damaged, right?

The reason insurance companies come out after a hail storm and pay for things (including your roof) to be fixed is because it is eventually going to cause a problem. While it may not start leaking right away, it is best to get it fixed as soon as possible so it doesn’t turn into something a lot worse. There is also a certain amount of time you have to get the damage fixed by the insurance company before they make it your responsibility.

Should I just wait until hail season is over to fix anything?

Hail in Colorado can happen at almost any time. Due to our inconsistent weather and only having to wait five minutes for it to change, hail is always a risk. Damages to your roof could lead to further damage to the residence and a more costly fix later. Also, most insurance companies have a time limit after a hail event that you can file a claim. It’s always best to get a FREE inspection from Priority Restoration as soon as possible after a bad storm and get honest input on what your next step should be.
